The Resources

We've put together a list of books, blogs and resources that we love.

Living with less / Simpler living

Small Notebook is one of my absolute favourite simple living blogs.  I was hooked the moment I read the first line of her welcome banner: "Here at Small Notebook, you don't need to buy more storage containers to get organized." Amen!

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt

One Bite at A Time: 52 Projects for Making Life Simpler.  An e-book by Tsh Oxenreider of Simple Mom.

The Joy of Less, A Minimalist Living Guide by Francine Jay.  The only thing wrong with this book is that it takes forever to read because you will keep wanting to put it down so you can go get rid of stuff!

7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess  by Jen Hatmaker

Organizing and Decluttering

Organized Simplicity: The Clutter-Free Approach to Intentional Living by Tsh Oxenreider

Unclutter Your Life in One Week by Erin Rooney Doland

Good Food and Sustainable Farming

Food, Inc: a startling and sometimes disturbing documentary about the food industry and the real price of cheap, convenient food.

In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto by Michael Pollan

The Sheer Ecstasy of Being a Lunatic Farmer by Joel Salatin

Little Homestead in the City is a treasury of great information on simple living and backyard farming!

Kids and Parenting

Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids by Kim John Payne

Fifteen Minutes Outside: 365 Ways to Get Out of the House and Connect with Your Kids by Rebecca Cohen

Shameless Self Promotion

I have another blog called The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking
